Within the last month, Nepal experienced deadly floods. Our shelter director there has stepped up to the plate and provided invaluable help to those most affected. From chartering a helicopter to deliver supplies to wading through knee-high flood waters, he and fellow believers have had a remarkable impact on those in need.
After reaching our fundraising goal, sewing machines and supplies for the six young entrepreneurs in one of our India shelters were purchased and delivered to them this past month.
We are excited to announce that 99 cents of every $1.00 donated to Orphan’s Hope World Mission went directly to our shelters in 2020. At the end of 2019, there were 271 kids in our shelters. By the end of 2020, our shelters were providing for 307 kids. If you're able, please consider donating to our mission.
One of our shelters in India houses 14 boys, but in recent months, our financial partner for this shelter was unable to continue their support of the boys’ home. Thankfully, God provided and connected OHWM with ‘The Crossing’ Church, who has fully funded this shelter through all of 2021.
Last month, we began a fundraising campaign to purchase sewing machines and start-up supplies for several young entrepreneurs at one of our shelters in India. We are happy to announce that all of the requested sewing machines and start-up supplies have been donated! As a source of income and skills-building, these sewing machines will provide economic freedom for these individuals.
One of our shelters in India is requesting donations to buy sewing machines for several young entrepreneurs in the shelter. They want to create income for themselves while also gaining a marketable skill. Please help us support them!
To keep up with the influx of stories, opportunities, and needs from our shelters, we’re starting a new blog, The Latest, to share key developments and updates with you, our supporters, and the community.
