We are excited to announce that 99 cents of every $1.00 donated to Orphan’s Hope World Mission (OHWM) went directly to our shelters in 2020. This means our administrative expense ratio—the percent of total expenses spent on management—was less than one percent, a decrease of four percentage points from 2019.
To put this in perspective, according to Charity Navigator, the average administrative expense ratio for 256 charities similar to OHWM was 11 percent in 2020. Whenever you donate to OWHM, you can be confident your resources are making a meaningful impact.
At the end of 2019, there were 271 kids in our shelters. By the end of 2020, our shelters were providing for 307 kids. Additionally, we began funding our eighth shelter, which is located in a small Taiwanese town. Despite the uncertainty of 2020, thanks to God’s grace, OHWM was able to provide for the needs of even more kids in need.
